In our grasp lie a million dreams
to nurture, sort—explore;
treat them as panes of sugar glass
our love as a sugar castle
beautiful and intricate.
~
Some dreams shatter
and when they do
we'll guard our entwined souls
from debris in our midst.
~
Of the million dreams
and love
one is vital to our survival—
~
Let us protect our sugar castle
from shattered sugar glass
with fierce faithfulness and devotion,
gentleness and understanding
as we evolve through the years.
