A short poem for those in hiding.

My soul’s a crackling

electric blue,

a live wire rattling through,

aiming to strike once, strike true—

crash into someone like you.

What is it that sprawls you out?

Makes you claw across the sky?

Do you heat up the horizon in hot red hues

or do you yellow POW! BLAP! KTANG!

your way through the frame?

Were it not for you, I wouldn’t know green flash bang.

Were it not for you, I wouldn’t know deep purple rumba.

Were it not for you, I wouldn't know tabby cat orange with the corkscrew tail.

Were it not for you, were it not for you, there would be no crackling cackling

electric blue.
