In Totality
Can we truly know another person?
Entire personhood is a thing ever obscured,
Covered by many moons of living afraid of self, and other; yet
Look into another soul's eyes: their
Iris, a colorful ring blazing around the edges of a dark, lunar pupil;
Pupils, what have you learned to hide - learned not to see?
Seldom do we perceive another in totality;
Even as you rise, afire with life and story, I know only your corona.
