If Saturn Were A Person

My affinity for Saturn

Day 35/366 days of writing pieces in 2024.

The above photo is from NASA’s instagram account. With the photo they wrote,”If you like it, put a ring 💍 on it.”I thought that was clever as hell. I’m kind of obsessed with this ringed beauty. Recently I found myself saying,”If I were a planet, I’d want to be Saturn.” I stare at pictures of this planet sometimes before bed. It’s interesting to me. So much so, I decided to write a poem personifying it. Although astrologists will tell you this planet is known as the disciplinarian, I didn’t include that this time around.

If Saturn were a person, oh what a sight,

A being of wonder, in the dark of the night.

With rings so majestic, encircling their frame,

A celestial beauty, filled with cosmic flame.

If Saturn were a person, their presence would astound,

A regal figure, in their majestic gown.

They'd command attention, with a graceful sway,

Leaving all in awe, as they pass their way.

If Saturn were a person, their wisdom would be vast,

A wellspring of knowledge, from the distant past.

They'd carry the secrets of the universe within,

Guiding us through galaxies, where new adventures begin.

If Saturn were a person, their heart would be serene,

A gentle spirit, with a love that's evergreen.

They'd embrace us all, with a warmth so tender,

A celestial companion, our cosmic defender.

If Saturn were a person, their laughter would resound,

A melodic chorus, with joy so profound.

Their giggles would echo, through the vast expanse,

Filling our souls with celestial dance.

If Saturn were a person, their dreams would be grand,

A visionary soul, with visions of a far-off land.

They'd paint the sky with colors, vibrant and bright,

Creating a celestial masterpiece, a wondrous sight.

If Saturn were a person, their strength would be untold,

A mighty force, with a spirit bold.

They'd weather the storms, with resilience and might,

Teaching us to persevere, even in the darkest night.

If Saturn were a person, their presence would inspire,

A celestial muse, setting our hearts on fire.

We'd gaze up at the sky, in awe and fascination,

For Saturn, the person, would be a cosmic revelation.
