I Miss You

Not even the gold trophies

sparkle like your hatred

I miss you

you smell better than chemicals and PHDs

you taste better than white coats and science itself

I’d break up with her to have you

Not even the stars can hold a candle

to your light

my purpose drowns in your murky waters

your grip is my lifeline

my visits with death

your midnight romance

I never stopped loving you

You warm my frigid days like sunshine

& sandalwood candles

You hold my sordid parts in the safety of your pockets

You’re the only one I’ve ever really loved

sad poetry
