I May Be Quite Insane

The tenuous grip on reality

They say I may be quite insane.

I'm quite inclined to say they're right

The evidence is clearly plain.

My shoes are made from candy cane

I wear rutabaga hats at night.

They say I may be quite insane.

I claim in French that I'm from Spain

And say disco isn't dead, for spite.

The evidence is clearly plain.

I cross the street on a purple train

That can't be seen in the dark, or the light.

They say I may be quite insane.

I laugh hysterically at falling rain,

Trash talk squirrels in hopes of a rousing fight

The evidence is clearly plain.

Normalcy is something I could try and feign

If only the straitjacket arms weren't so tight.

They say I may be quite insane.

The evidence is clearly plain.
