I love you grandpa

Will never know you

dearest grampa,

Never got the chance to know you. That makes me melancholy, very blue. I’ve wondered what it would be like, learning everything from you.

Quiet nights, busy days, hunting all kinds of things. Lightning bugs, pollywogs, rainbows and clover rings.

Loving over the winter, snuggly like bugs. Kisses, smiles, loving and great big hugs.

I know you would have loved me and Tulip too. Giving me sweets and popsicles, yellow, red and blue.

I’m very sad I can’t give you giant kisses. Of all I made, these would be my fondest wishes.

Lovingly,

Your granddaughter, Violet (and Tulip too)
