I Have Learned

Learned to love

I have learned that -life- comes in waves,

Waves that can drag you,

I have learned you are the swimmer,

Waves that can drown you in the middle of nowhere if you become too careless,

I have learned you have the option to fight against the waves and direct it to take you back to shore,

waves that can uplift you back to home,

I have learned things occur so abruptly sometimes it is best to let go,

waves that can replenish you,

even if letting go means holding your breath a little longer,

I have learned its best to enjoy the waves no matter the altitudes in which they come,

waves that can restore you,

I have learned you must love the same current that tries to go against you,

waves that can kiss you from the head, toe, and places I did not know existed,

I have learned that the waves build their momentum by the wind that carries itself freely,

I have learned to love the waves,

wrap myself with the water,

I have learned to be like the wind carrying us out by the love I stimulate to be able to go where we need to be
