Live to love another day

I Died Today

I died today, but I'm still breathing.

Inconveniently my heart continues to beat.

My eyes they opened, but unwillingly so.

My lungs gave me breath to breathe.

The blood still circulates inside my veins.

Racing thoughts invade my brain.

So much so, that I can't fall asleep.

I feel I'm going insane!

I no longer have the power of choice.

My wits are at their end.

No more lying, no more faking,

That only lasts so long.

No longer can I pretend!

Something broke, something shattered,

something died inside of me!

When the love you once proclaimed to have,

no longer could I see!

I died today, but I’m still breathing.

Batterd and broken as I may be.

Tomorrow I’ll take another breath,

and see where life takes me.
