I Am the River

I am the river

Winding through the lush

Green hills of southern Kentucky

Crashing against the shoreline

Listening to the booming thunder coming from

Countless mines being stripped

Of nature's earthly bounty

But that is no concern for me

Any longer

I can stop searching for

My truth now

And just rumble my way home

Through the melting, crumbling world surrounding me

Under and through the wreckage of

The bridges humans have burned

Sliding back into my current

Looking up into the skies

As eternity swirls around me

I am the river

I am invincible

I am eternal

I am forever

I am God's love

Inviting you to jump in and swim

The rivers with me

Flowing into

Bigger rivers

That merge into the divine infinity of oceans

Oceans of hope and love

I am the river

Come swim with me
