HOW TO CHOOSE A PLACE FOR THE PARTY

To celebrate weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, or corporate events well, you need to choose a venue for the event. It can be a restaurant, club, cafe, or outdoor area in the countryside if the event takes place in the summer.

If you're going to sit in a close family circle then it all comes down to your preferences on the price and quality of service, as well as preferences on the design and interior.

Well, if you are going to organize a significant event with an invitation host, DJ, various artists, show ballet, and royalty free hiphop beats for corporate parties, you need an area of over 100 square meters.

ROOM AREA

The first thing to pay attention to space in the hall. You will need to seat guests, leave room for dancing, space for the movement of waiters and guests, as well as leave room for musicians and performances of various artists.

For guests to calculate the space is not difficult, for each person about 1.5 - 2 square meters. It is more difficult with musicians. A music group requires a stage, or if there is no stage - a dedicated area on the floor.

The calculation of the area comes from the rule: 2-3 square meters per musician (consider the musician and his instrument) + space under the equipment:

  • stage monitors 1pc. one square meter;
  • Guitar and bass combos 1 sq.m. each;
  • microphone stands 0.5 square meters each;
  • gantry speakers 1 square meter per speaker
  • space for mixer + sound engineer 4 sq.m.

You may ask: "Why such mathematics?" The answer: "If the musicians or artists are not comfortable on stage, the performance will be held with great stress and dissatisfaction, and this can inevitably affect the quality of the performance. And as a consequence, on the holiday."

Host. He needs to walk around the room, respectively needs to leave free passages between the tables for the guests in general, he should have no problem moving around. His task is to quickly move from one point to another easily and nimbly.

Artists. Whether magicians, soap bubbles show, dancers, etc. they need a lot of space, because they will not stand on the spot, and will move. Accordingly, should be based on 3 square meters. meters per person.

ROOM ACOUSTICS

The most common mistake of many is not to pay any attention to the acoustic properties of the hall. How many times our group came to the venues, and there was such strong reverberation (in simple terms - echo) that you could clap your hands and hear a three-second reflection of sound?

Based on the most popular dance song tempo of 120 beats per minute (or 2 beats per second), imagine how many times the same sound is repeated and superimposed on the next, given 5-6 musicians making the sounds.

Such venues are very good for opera singing or acoustic concerts. But a musical band with a drum set in its composition or disco is not suitable at all. The sound will be turned into mush, no matter the quality of the apparatus! Neither the listener nor the musicians will be satisfied.

SPECIAL TIP FROM THE ORANGE VINYL COVER BAND

As soon as you are going to choose a hall for your event don't be lazy to go there and clap your hands a couple of times. If you don't hear an echo from the clapping then that's just great, but if you do then you have to wonder if the hall is suitable for live sound.

If you can not determine the quality of sound, you should contact those who will be engaged in the sound design of your event, whether the rental sound equipment or our musical group.

Well, maybe you liked the hall and you're not interested in its sound properties, you can try to muffle the sound reflection of some flooring (carpet, carpet, etc.). And on the walls hang fabric curtains or similar materials.

In general, reflections occur from straight walls and corners, and the more flat surfaces in the room, the more reflections. Well, the more different curves, furniture, carpets, nappy fabrics that absorb sound vibrations, etc. - the fewer sound reflections and the clearer the sound of the music.

DRESSING ROOM AND AUXILIARY ROOM

A dressing room and utility room should be compulsory items in the hall. The host, performers, and musicians need somewhere to change their clothes while waiting for their entrance to the stage. Also need an auxiliary room for cases of equipment, musical instruments and the like.

If there is not enough space indoors, you can organize a tent outdoors, but in winter, only indoors, it is desirable to control the availability of a really warm room. There were cases when in winter our group was placed in very cold make-up rooms, coming on stage it was simply impossible to play anything and it affected the quality of performance and mood very much.

CONCLUSION

Finding a place to celebrate the event is not as easy as it may seem at first glance. Of course, you will be guided by your preferences, pricing, distance from the city center, the availability of free parking spaces, etc. But please do not forget that there is another side to the question, set out above. And if you take it into account when choosing the venue, the holiday will be a success!
