His smile

June 25th,  2013

It starts with his smile.

His straight lined teeth do not match her crooked smile.

His deep brown eyes don’t see the secrets she hides.

She is keeping any distracting emotional thought away from her heart.

She knows his smile will break every wall.

She secretly wishes for it, she would never acknowledge it in public.

They should be friends. He would only want to be her friend. He has so much potential, everyone sees it, everybody talks about it and she hears and is proud of him.

So for now he is just a friend.

 September 2013

It has been three months since she has seen her best friend; she tells her about her new friend, on how much she wishes he was not her friend.

How much she wants to tell him everything and how much she babbles. How much she wants to know about him and how little he shares. She tells her is better to talk about her new friend than her new job. Her new job is exhausting, and she already knows she is too sensitive to it.

As the noise and alcohol reeks in the bar, she notices her friend trying to escape her own life. She is trying to be someone else tonight. She takes care of her friend; she ignores and makes the men surrounding them ignore them. She will make sure they are safe.
