Engulged in the bustle
Emptied folders, voices clammer
Pages rustle
Until the turn, spinning soles
There you were..
Heart paused, a numbing sound
Smile
Look down.
Oh, how simple it would have been
To look at you, and smile or slightly grin.
But simple self consciousness, and fear of the unknown
Overcome by doubt, a heart, just like that, turns to stone.
Ignore him. Avoid him. It’s not possible to ever be adored by him.
The odds, spread too thin.
I am a mess, 3AM, lying there, void of distress..
trying to put behind me this foolish and desired thought of a tryst.
“Close your eyes”, the last words spoken before the chime.
A notification of sorts, from his.. to mine.
