The sun slides slowly along the wall and I see
A new day dawning, drawn through my open window
Painting a picture yet to be viewed by my eyes
On the walls where ‘our’ pictures used to
Grace the world with a vicious vanity
The blankets stir as, in your sleep
You dream dreams that seem to me
Eternity, I see
The sun streak has moved, though I did not see
Its course in its slow trajectory creep
The smooth, rich comfort it brings to me
Runs over my skin like a velvet glove
Into my ears like a symphony, the sound sings
Sleepy whispers when the morning chill kisses me
Then warmth caresses me, a feeling I have not yet known
The sun slides slowly along the wall
Its time in the sky nears the end as I watch
Through the sheer drapes I hung once upon a time
The shadows elongate, I sigh and take refuge
Into the soft silk of your neck, nestled in your bedsheets
...
You open your eyes and
I lose myself for the millionth time
