Here and Beyond

In this time

and in this place,

we created a safe haven

for us to fully embrace.

Here, we banish critics,

and there only exists you and I;

And all we have to do is just be,

whether that means we talk, laugh or cry.

I’m exceptionally grateful for this,

since I don't have to pretend.

I asked the universe for a sign,

and in turn, it gave me a friend.

Quite unexpected,

I am still thankful for all that we share.

Because as we both know and lived,

life tends to be unfair.

With the passage of time,

someday, this beginning will be a memory.

We'll travel far along our journey, though

I hope it'll be together, wouldn't you agree?
