Inspired to achieve

Beyond my own dreams

Perhaps disadvantaged

And without the true means

A burning desire

Fanned from a small ember

Conceived deep within

The struggle remembered

A generation compelled

In desperate need

The pressures of which

The need to succeed

I’ve ventured beyond

My own comfort zone

And cast away doubts

And the fears that I’ve known

Dedicated and focused

To ensure my success

The support of my family

And their sweet caress

Detours and diversions

Set forth in the road

I’ve managed the journey

And handled the load

Armed with the skills

I’ve honed to perfection

Proudly I walk

Today in reflection
