Bright as a yellow beach umbrella

Oh, symbolic rainbow

illusory of high hopes,

REALITY childhood bonds fade-

Memories a prism, projected in flustered teardrops—

Lost at what cost?

Opposites attract,

radiant as the sun-

Darkned as clouds release a thunderstorm...

Oh, symbolic rainbow

illusory of high hopes,

Illuminate, internal, irreverence

HIDDEN individualism

SUPPOSEDLY supporting stereotypes...

I, fumble for uniqueness

as if defining oxymoron...

Depiction, of average lifestyle

Mom, dad, and two point two

You had I

and I

had you

My knuckles bruised, like violet

my lip split, dripping red-

Always first

defending you

Because that’s

what big brothers do!

Oh, symbolic rainbow

illusory of high hopes-

Impeding title (uncle)

never came true...

Missing so much more,

the little brother, I adore

Distant, detachment, division

A safe distance from whom?

Presumably

time leaching toxicity

from our relationship like rainwater to soil-

Out of perceived refusal-

A heavy burden alone to shoulder....

Grief like a moonbow

reflecting the words of loss

How did he not know?

If he allowed,

I would’ve grown;

Given the chance,

I would’ve chased after you!

I accept all of you,

always have

every inch

my endless ray of energetic light....
