Gifts and Lessons

Everything is either

a gift or a lesson

and lessons are gifts

and gifts are lessons.

When a little bird

perched in a tree

shares its joyful song

with you,

the gift reminds you

to be light and carefree

and humbles you

because a little bird

could make you feel so happy

without even knowing.

It inspires you to sing

for the sake of singing

and reminds you

that nothing is as serious

as it seems.

When you feel trapped

with no way out,

you must learn

to feel calm and connected

when your external environment

is trying to convince you

you must suffer.

You are challenged to open your mind,

allow your creativity to take over

and find a solution

when it seems there are none.

You are given the gift of new tools

you just found inside yourself

that now you can use

for the rest

of your life.

and appreciation

like the song
