Game Over

Aging

Game Over

when every breath is a challenge,

every step a mockery,

age has come to pass;

age has set new rules,

the game changes!!

where is the splendor of youth?,

crystal clear vision!,

razor’s edge words,

delivered with intent,

with conviction,

major decisions matter no more,

just making it, that’s the plan,

making it from dawn to dusk,

making it from dusk to dawn,

succumbing to sleep,

with an ageless yawn;

is this all that remains,

when we receive our call?,

come now my child,

game over,

I’m taking the ball!!

you carried it well,

but now,

your journey is done,

you have become,

another setting sun!!

Prodded the goofy mind for a run, (actually a limp, 🧐😂) up the middle while I’m still able to “carry” the ball! Thanks for the read, hope you enjoyed!!

  • Anyone want my ball? I'm giving it away for free, lol. How's that for dark humour? 🤣 Loved your poem!

    Moe! This seared off the page at me. Felt all of that. Ouch. Visceral words there my friend... close to the bone indeed. ❤

    Well, that's a bit melancholy, buddy, but you expressed it very well. You're still a starter.

    This was stunning, yet sobering at the same time. A reminder to count my blessings. Thank you, Moe!
