Friend

Lessons

By Gregory AndersonPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

You build me up you tear me down

I wonder why I keep you around

Loneliness without end my friend

Friends come and go like a parade

A mix of personalities some throw shade

Offering advice on what they see and who you should be from their point of view

Never truly seeing the real you

Sometimes the motives we see should be a clue

Obstacles rise and fall what seems like the great divide

The roaring ocean and the crashing tide

Life has a pace and flow at times we can’t see the way to go

Sometimes a friend sticks closer than a brother

At times the road leads you to find another

We reach a crossroads will you stay till the end

In the complexities of life will I be able to call you friend
