Fragments

Sunday morning ramblings

Fragments of the heart

left at the doorstep of an unfulfilled soul.

Unable to breach the padlock

unwittingly bolted to the mind.

Disjointed moments of hope

stymied by incoherent ramblings of despair.

Scratching at the entry

but unable to soothe the incessant itch

of confidence denied,

or fear unabated.

Stop!

Breathe.

Look.

You have the key.

You have the balm.

You are all you need.

Soothe the itch with every step you take.

Turn the key with every word you write.

Welcome to completeness.

If only for a moment

Now take another breath, collect the fragments,

and make another moment.

All you need is one at a time.

Fabulous job! Very inspiring piece Cathy! Awesome work!

  • "Consider the lilies of the field...." One day, one moment at a time, living in the now & allowing the next moment to work itself out when the time comes for it.

Ahhh, I LOVE this piece so much, my friend! Such a journey from the start, and then the middle has such a powerful shift leading to a beautiful realization. We have "the key, the balm". All we have is this moment, and this one, and this one, so just keep putting one foot in front of the other. I took a lot from this piece!

  • Sometimes it just gets to overwhelming, y'know. So yea, I get what you mean. Step back and breath. Then collect the fragments. That's excellent advise!

Thanks for the inspirational words. I find myself juggling many things at once and mostly I do it deliberately, to keep the voices confused, but every now and then It's good to stop and look around and breathe. I think the madness of Christmas time is when we feel the need to slow the wheels.

One at a time. I'm suffering from all at once chaos here, so thank you.
