Haiku

Oh fragile lake

soft slumber so soundly

mirrors envy thee

Free Verse: "To the Naiad next door"

Oh fragile lake,

to kiss thy shallow cheek

would make a joker out of me.

To allow the lovely Narcissus' pleasure

to nestle within,

would define me.

It takes one dry stone,

to erupt thy watery waves,

like cracks on clean glass;

a perfect imperfection.

A liquid diamond,

so delicate and precious melts within my,

weak mortal cup.

Can the holy ones

detail such lust to me?

The Bright Sun and Illuminant Moon

reflects their divine faces every day,

within the clear crisp mirror

that slumbers softly below them.

She rests here,

the goofy ducks her only amusement.

Is it your curse,

to let everyone else see their own beauty beside your own?

Hinder thy tears, my dear,

for my minds eye only tunnels thee

as nature's blessing of life.
