Forbidden Choice

The sun is my enemy, and the moon is my friend

When the sun is shining, I keep my heart closed.

When the moon is shining, my heart is exposed.

I float into sleep, eager to be in my safe space

My smile outrivals the stars as I see your face

Warm brown eyes, and you have the cutest smile

Pull me into your arms and hold me there awhile

The sun is my enemy, and the moon is my friend

With you in my dreams, happy hours to spend

Your brain is beautiful, and you make me laugh

Imprinting you on my brain like a photograph

I could waste hours, lost in the lull of your voice

You deserve more than to be a forbidden choice
