For that, I'm sorry

It was never really your fault,

hurt people hurt people

its a malignant cycle of love that spoils

after some time,

Because you handed me the blade

crumbling into a pile of bitter bones, bleeding out

harm, turns a wet heart into stone

and clogging the arteries with self

indulgence,

harming others through a series of wrong conclusions

passed down to you and how

such bitterness can be the result of incapacitating love

and for that

I'm sorry,

and for that

together, we hurt

Well-wrought! Ultimately, the way out is through, whether we like it or not...

  • Thank you everyone! Yes, reading it both ways shows the harm on both parts. The first way is them causing it, and the inverse way is the view of β€œ me” causing it on them. And for both, I’m sorry.

  • Nicely done, Natasha, even though I do believe I'm totally to blame. I'm not sure for what, but I'm sure there's something.

Both gripping and gutting. An incredible inversion!

  • Whoaaaa, this was so intense both forwards and in reverse! I loved the self indulgence and self harm part. Brilliant poem!
