Foolishly Devoted

To Him

Words wielded power untold,

A fool, you named me, in love's relentless script,

Yet, knowing the finale, my heart dared to flip.

For in the dance of destiny, bold tales unfold,

Where love's the prize for those who dare to hold.

I heeded not the whispers of the end,

Nor the echoes of departure in your tone,

For in every verse where my affections bend,

Lies the strength to stand, even when alone.

So let the stars bear witness to this truth,

That love, once kindled, burns beyond the ruse,

And though you cast me as the naive youth,

I choose the role, your fool, with naught to lose.

For in the theater of the heart's grand play,

It's better to have loved than turned away.
