Flowers

You asked for the moon

I rented the fastest spaceship

Soared across the stars

Stole the moon’s beauty for you

But, I never received my flowers

You asked for the ocean

I sailed to the depths of the Atlantic

Coveted the sea and all its might

Raced against the current and the tides

But, I never received my flowers

You asked for forgiveness

I searched the depths of my heart

Removed the pain you caused

Because I yearned for your presence

But, I never received my flowers

You asked for my love

Every ounce of affection I poured into you

Perhaps more than I carried

It flowed like a river that leads to the sea

But

I never received my flowers
