Flakes

here it comes

By Brenton FPublished 6 months ago 1 min read
A Wall

i’m slowly mourning

the parts i’m waiting to die

the inevitable demise

lack of light and nutrients

i can feel the withering

the fading

i’m slowly watching

everything around me crumble

the rot has truly set in

it is now time for

the consequences

the result of

...me

i’m slowly mourning

all that i have let die

everything i let slip away

apathetic neglect

but i never ever thought

it would come to this

i’m slowly watching

these flakes of me

fall about my feet

revealed for what they are

they wither in the light

they fleetly sing of sorrow

sad poetry

Apathetic neglect…those two words hit. What a sad but true thing to understand. Excellent piece
