Find The Fire
You aren’t finished yet…
Find the Fire
“You’re lazy”
“You look like a horse”
“You’re so noisy”
Small arrows in the arsenal of the bully
The judging teacher
Or the harsh parent
They are arrows that get under your skin
They fester
You believe their message
You actually become those words
Because who else are you?
You’ve forgotten
And you’ve forgotten you can be whoever you want to be
You’ve really don’t remember that
Maybe you just didn’t even know it at all
Well you can find your fire
You might have to throw who you thought you were
Out of the window
What you thought was “you”
You might have quite enjoyed actually
But do they still support you now?
Have you got where you need to go?
Do you know where that is?
I hope you find your fire
Sooner rather than later
But anytime will serve you well
Look inside
It’s not out there!
So long as you know
You don’t have to be who they said you were
Unless it matches your highest good
(Not all arrows are cruel, take what suits and pull out the rest)
It’s something I didn’t know
I thought I had to be “ME” throughout my life
Not realising that “me” wasn’t cast in stone
It’s a strange thing to realise late in life
But now I have
I’ve found my fire
Just so you know….
