Dear Abuser,
I wish I could explain the damage you’ve done.
The brokenness you created can’t be unspun.
Maybe mended…
Maybe healed…
But the thoughts and the feelings,
Can not be outrun.
Whenever they come crashing in,
it becomes a battle she may not win
Maybe survive…
Maybe surrender…
But that dead little girl,
is now just covered by skin.
You stole an identity she needed in life,
Forcing a notion and breaking a wife
Maybe love…
Maybe NOT…
Confusion so thick,
it’s cut with a knife.
Caught in feeling, a wrong that is right,
Now the bed is a place, she has to fight
Maybe her husband…
Maybe that guy…
You left her a victim,
now living in fright.
Grasping for control, she can’t let him in,
Isolated and paying, for someone else’s sin
Maybe her fault…
Maybe her shame…
NO that is a lie,
The world tries to spin.
You took advantage of innocence’s age,
You cast the script, and then took the stage
Maybe silenced…
Maybe naive…
You had her running,
But now she’s enraged.
Sincerely,
The not so little girl
