Reflections

You are more.

Dear humanity,

I've been thinking a lot about you…

Pondering the depths of who you are,

the power you hold,

wondering why you don’t recognize it…

You underestimate the power of your words…

Negative roots take hold,

locking you into a ground not meant for you.

You underestimate your silence…

Like a caged lion,

the circus watches,

has you believing you belong to them.

You underestimate your creativity…

The ideas, the thoughts, the stories

stored away in a cobweb filled attic…

Pandora took a risk,

(despite the contents)

she knew she couldn’t LIVE—

without knowing.

Look in the mirror!

I am…

What do you see?

Something little? something broken?

something jaded?

You're unrecognizable aren’t you?

I beg you to find your true self…

Run to the water,

watch your reflection dance,

run to the water

It knows your depth,

It mimics your immensity,

It carries the truth of your tranquility,

Your power—is matched by its waves

People come to you to find themselves,

Exploring the deeper parts of you

Offers INSIGHTS…

Remembering a perfect peace,

Remembering an authority,

It was you who named the birds and beasts,

Yes YOU

Speak to your waters,

Tell them to move…

Observe their stirring,

You are a mighty rushing river,

Yes YOU

Damn the dam

Let it break

Look at your currents,

now there’s circulation…

YOU’RE coming alive,

Your true identity is bursting forth

Let it flow

Let it gently nudge

the next fellow
