Every Tree Sings

An Acrostic Sonnet

Every tree sings to the Sun for more rain

Varnishing its crown with the greenest leaves

Each tree also prays to Light for less pain

Remembering the friends cut down by thieves

Yesterday’s lands were blanketed by trees

Today’s grounds are covered by wasting tar

Rooting for tomorrow’s soils on our knees

Every one of us cannot see too far

Each life needs a tree growing high and wide

Sending its song and prayer to the sky

In the end all surface life would have died

Nursing all expectations with a sigh

Give trees the respect both deserved and owed

Surprise yourself with tree of life bestowed

-----

Dedicated to every tree lover and tree.

This was so wonderful! Awesome job on combining an acrostic and a sonnet!
