Every Time the Sun Shines

I come back to you

Wishing into another dream,

I dipped inside a lake,

turquoise water greeted my steps

I looked back; no trace of the past

future lying in waiting

joy dropped beyond an ocean,

I dived

and underwater rainbow

embraced my every wish,

nothing was left undone,

no heartfelt yearning

left to flee.

***

My dreams walked into life

the day I met you

changed the way I smile,

run and chase sunshine

unhurt, each tiny goal

was given strength

gliding, learning to skate

on clouds

and mountains in the moon.

***

I knew there was no limit to the sea

sunset became the hour

of echoed longing

morning found birds

singing on sill,

sadness glimpsed reasons

to go on,

deep memories run streams

conscience beginning to sound bell

I know; I always did

love alters steps,

restores soul and the night

that threatened to take spirit

has melted into dusk.

***

Gray turning blue,

then turquoise,

a golden shimmer

to each thought,

a love that flies on river

of yearning.

No ending, no beginning

now has always been

us.

***

Sunshine touches ivy and garden,

a glass,

I see my life before

if it was long ago or near

regrets have gone with wind,

lost steps can't be undone

new days are waiting

to become.

***

In all the flowers I meet

and the leaves

I find more reasons to believe

chance is a mirror,

shards broke some time ago

I kept one, and I saw you,

from tiny glass, unbroken

love was the same

dashing away in meadow.

***

Believing made a home

a bridge over all heartbreak

a hand to hold,

to float among the waves

in sunlit sky,

under the mountains,

I have you, and the answer glows

pebbles can tell

soul journey,

feelings trapped,

learning to thaw

thank you,

I do,

now and for always.
