The first of April, a day of jest,
A day when we put humor to the test,
A day to play pranks, and make fools of friends,
A day of laughs and lighthearted amends.
But what if the joke's on us this time,
And we're the ones caught in the punchline?
Our face turning red, embarrassment sets in,
As we realize the joke is not so thin.
Our pride takes a hit, our ego a blow,
As we try to save face, and let the moment go.
But the memory lingers, the feeling remains,
Of being caught off guard, and feeling the pain.
Yet maybe it's not so bad after all,
To be on the receiving end of a prankster's call.
For laughter is medicine, and joy is the cure,
And in this moment, we learn to endure.
So let's embrace the April Fool's Day game,
And not take ourselves too seriously, in shame.
For in the end, it's all in good fun,
And the memories we make will long outlast the pun.
Embrace the embracement, and let the laughter flow,
For on this day, we are all fools, you know.
