As I wandered the isles of a commercial art store,
Gaining a feel for some of the pieces,
Until from the corner of my eye I spotted
Earthly tones, the source of nature and the feelings it releases.
***
Earthy browns, golden sands, white hues,
All a pleasant picturesque scene for the eye,
Nine panelled canvas, each a busy story,
Open for interpretation, each brown earthly dye.
***
Circles of colour against brown hewn backdrops,
Each square worthy of introspection,
Every stroke magnificent in its own right,
Making the entire canvas into an earthly connection.
***
Shades of tan melded into rich earthly browns,
White sandy hues fading into limestone golds,
Silver circles merging across rich earthy tones,
All blending into different shades of brown folds.
***
Textured palettes, some blending across the squares,
Circles of all sizes digging into the paint,
Washes and nuts of gunmetal grey,
As bold earth colours fade out and feint.
***
The spirit of Mother Nature in all her glory,
The ochre colours raised from the earth,
A feeling of peace, living with nature,
The images within life giving birth.

Beautiful work Colleen!!!!
This was just so soothing, like a lullaby! Very beautiful!
When a painting speaks to, touches, connects with us, it is an alluring, whelming thing. I remember going on a volunteers in mission trip to McCurdy. We took one afternoon to explore Sante Fe. We went into several art galleries as we had some aspiring artists among the youth in our care. In one gallery, there was a painting of a tree. It wasn't large, nothing spectacular about it. But I kept returning to it. Nothing else for me compared with it.
Beautiful poem. Well done, my friend.
Nice piece ❤️😉💯
