Remember how by dreaming you defined your future self
Yeah, all those dreams you’ve hidden in a closet on a shelf
You listened to your critics, built a wall that’s ten feet tall
But often YOU’RE the critic who will build the highest wall
Though walls may offer safety, isn’t risk what life’s about
They MAY protect what’s inside but they’re keeping good things out
So never trust your critics, though they’re with us every day
That pebble in your shoe until your dreams just fade away
See, everybody stumbles, and yes, everybody falls
Your doubts are just the mortar in the creases of your walls
Your dream can be demanding as it’s forcing you to strive
A dream can go on living for as long as you’re alive
At forty I began to fly, but wanted so much more
I added my “commercial” by the age of forty four
Remember all you doubters, though some obstacles you’ve sown
A dream requires a dreamer, they don’t happen on their own
