The lonely dog

In the sultry haze of summer's reign,

Where golden beams dance upon the plain,

A lonely dog roams the dusty street,

His weary paws bearing a tale of defeat.

With eyes so sad, a gaze lost in thought,

He wanders aimlessly, forlorn and distraught,

His fur once lustrous, now dulled by despair,

He searches for solace in the stifling air.

His ears, once perked with lively cheer,

Now droop in sadness, a silent veneer,

He yearns for a touch, a gentle embrace,

But finds only emptiness in this desolate space.

The world races by, in a frenzy it seems,

While he is left behind, adrift in his dreams,

His wagging tail, once full of delight,

Now hangs low, burdened by endless night.

Oh, dog of sorrows, lost in the heat,

May your heart find solace, a love so sweet,

May the dog days relent, and bring you a friend,

To heal your wounds, and help your soul mend.

For in this vast world, where shadows may fall,

There's a kindred spirit awaiting your call,

Together, you'll chase away the endless strife,

And bask in the warmth of a loving life.
