Doctrine of Callisto

Love Always, and Live

The Hunting Party of Artemis - Apollo, Artemis, Callisto

Love Always, she cries

From the rooftop of her mind

Love always and live

She appeared one day

Folding herself into us

Melding with our life

Brown and gold tresses

Falling in streams on her cheeks

A veil of mystique

To hide any fall

Soft lip smile granted to all

But given to few

Her image is holy

Limbs and torso and head fused

By divine bodies

But does not define her

Anymore that she is her own

To be and go and build

Hunting by the moon

Fatefully she is taught tied

Threads of time bound tight

Matching the God’s foot stride

Her arrow meets the target

Skilled as Artemis

At killing for life

At being a discarnate form

A sharpened, switch blade knife

Lessons are actions

The doctrine of Callisto

Love always and live

Engraved on her heart

In permanent black pigment

She holds herself in

This vow she made true

Truer every day she gives

Hope to a scared boy

Enough pain she kissed

Enough love to give this world

Enough spite to exist

She lives in the stars

Guiding the lost sailor, safe

Weary traveler, stay sane

For she will sit, wait

Genuinely face

The eclipsed embrace

That blasts the dark sky

Each time the gods relive fate

Explode in a sigh

Floating in space

Each light a million miles off

Spread over the Milky Way

Transcend the physics

That gravity binds and breaks

Formed by man and beast

From west to the east

Her brilliance pierces the night

And fabricates sight

When darkness would reign

When twilight gold starts to wane

And coldness would bite

The universe forms

The woman who lives and loves

Even when in pain

Keep count, O’ Sunshine

The doctrine of Callisto

And her sacred love

She offers slowly

But surely it comes

If worthy, if earned

Build a monument

Of the fair hunting maiden

A soft and safe place laden

At last for the Moon

And Sun to become whole again

Cloaked from mortal men

In the arms of truth

She speaks so vividly of

Existence in love

A home to foster

Three is the perfect number

Stars aligned above her

Callisto brings new

He was afraid he lost her

His hope, his love who

Had to be hardened

To survive her journey

Thus far, and to live.

Callisto’s warm light

Thawing what had been forgotten

Dotted across the sky

Now a song to sing

Love always! Callisto cries.

From her place on high.

Love always and live

Love always and live

Love always and live

This is the doctrine of Callisto.
