A love that won't let go

Once upon a time

You and I were happy.

We laughed

We talked so much

We loved each other's company

It changed and you left

The day after you said we could only be friends

But I didn't let go.

I didn't want to let go of something

Good

Something that made me

Happy

But you wanted me to let go.

You wanted us to move on

Be friends

Just friends

It was hard when you were gone

It was so sudden and so...

Unfair

Not a word was sent my way

When we used to talk every day

But my heart didn't let go.

I waited for you.
