All that remains is darkness

Joy and laughter faded away

Hope a distant prayer

Dreams go unanswered

Yet

When the chaos calms

The world pauses

When silence descends

We can find peace

You nailed this! Your poem read so well forwards and in reverse, with two distinct meanings! Loved your poem!
