A father and his daughter often share a special bond

Very little effort is required to get along

She is the apple of his eye

No-one else compares

he loves him unconditionally

A rare closeness they share

A father always holds his daughters hopes so very high

Praising and supporting her so one day she will fly

Above the clouds away from all of life’s uncertainties

He always was so proud of her

She always aimed to please

A daughter doesn’t understand the changes that must come

Things her Dad can’t help her with

For these she needs her Mum

A time of complications

And confusion all around

Not knowing who to turn to

Trying to find some common ground

A daughter disregarding all the things she knows as right

Ignorant and rebellious

Often leading to a fight

Trying to find out who she is

Not knowing where to start

"It’s her life" and "It’s her choice"

Weigh heavy on his heart

Although I live my life a little differently to plan

I’ve made the most of my mistakes

And do the best I can

I know you’re disappointed

And you wanted more for me

But our choices are what shapes us

And alters life You see

It doesn’t matter what the distance

Or all the things unsaid

Acceptance is the key

Forgiveness helps us move ahead

We may have our own lives

But I’m Daddy’s little girl

All I’ve ever wanted

Is to have you in my world
