Coffee Shop Bliss
A poem inspired by a coffee shop
Macchiatos to cold brews, the enticing aroma of coffee
hot and iced drinks all coincide perfectly
Columbian, a bold dark roast, the coffee shop’s special house blend
all meld together to create an aromatic bliss.
A young woman orders a drink
“One Americano, two shots of expresso.”
In a confident tone — a loyal patron
Her order — predictable and never changing
Open laptops, notes scattered in organized chaos.
Newspapers, magazines, books
Sketches, writings, glimpses of digital drawings
Every medium of creativity surrounds me
The guy, at the table next to me
deeply focused on his screen,
earbuds in secure, scrawled on notes to the side
Lost in thought, cannot be disturbed.
I take out my laptop, my notebook, and pen
The enticing scent of coffee,
an atmosphere that fuels creativity
It’s another wonderous day at the coffee shop!
