chrysalis

poem

your face halved in ultraviolet, mischievous, feywild

fracturing light with your fingertips

your hands like star-maps constellating my shape.

this is the part where we alchemize. where you turn my skin to gold.

crystallize the moment in amber, to live and die in the chrysalis of us.

imagine it.

our own self-contained infinity

a universe spilled over the ceiling and the walls.

an iridescent forever with a boy made of stars.

the searing radiance of you and me.

there, you see it?

the glimmering possibility of it

like a butterfly out of the corner of your eye?

capture it.

to glimpse immortality, we have to freeze time.
