Cabinets, Commutes, and Chipped Paint

Poetry in motion

Welcome to part of my mind. On todays episode....

The cogs start whirring and a poem starts brewing.

Inspiration can truly hit anywhere so let's see what it produced this time shall we?

As I stare at you

I'm reminded of a less frayed time

When our memories weren't chipped paint

Hanging off the surface of

What was once sparkling and new

A filing cabinet is a strange thing

It's funny how it triggers memories

Of things we promised to revisit but never do

I could follow this train

To a time when each file was placed lovingly as a keepsake

But this journey leads to new beginnings

To a vintage future

Of we

Of us

Of togetherness shared

Of chipped paint

Of antiquated tales

That only we find funny

But we don't care

Because you're my cabinet

And I'm yours
