C-O-M-F-O-R-T

It was difficult to define -

comfortability- a peace of mind.

Truth be told, never feeling comfort in my skin-

Until recently, a transformation within.

I was not taught to be comfortable.

I was not taught to be proud.

I was not taught to love myself.

or to love anything outloud.

Unaware of me and of others-

So completely unaware, so entirely oblivious.

Hidden behind a façade of a happy girl-

One who almost missed, a chance to be in this world.

I never knew how evil existed.

How it created quite a discord.

Now calmed by thought-

Speaking my own expressive word.

Into my heart, I have dived-

Into my soul, I have delved-

to explore places of my passion,

Above all else.

I experience comfort, in knowing that I exist-

Surviving trauma, I have remained victimless.

It eases the pain that was once inside-

Assisting others, find the will to survive.

My faith and my passion, forever I will keep.

My dreams and my values, forever I'll reep.

My preferential peace-

where my comfort falls asleep.

The world has tried to break me-

told lies and fallacies.

About who I am and who I am destined to become-

Not to grow old, be different from everyone.

What gives me the most comfort?

In such an antiquated world, I have remained.....forever young.
