I have to try and make this light
My words have been so heavy
Like water breaching on a ridge
Of a damn an island or levy
Yes words can bring a friend to tears
Or raise a frown to grins
They can put down history
Or rewrite praise to sins
I want to say something bubbly
Something light to warm the soul
I want to make you chuckle more
Than you could ever know
So think of something funny
Then flip it all around
Make it upside down and crazy
Then break that silent sound
Just roll and laugh And dance around
And forget all that we were saying
Just gasp for air
And dare prepare
To laugh about what we’re portraying.
