BORROWED

Borrowed

Borrowing hate, like a poison from the past,

A burden, that we carry, with each step we cast.

It's a weight, that we bear, in the name of revenge,

And a fire, that burns, with each grudge we tend.

It's a flame, that spreads, through the veins of our soul,

And a shadow, that clouds, the light of our goal.

It's a chain, that binds, and restricts our flight,

And a curse, that hinders, the joy of our sight.

Borrowed hate, is a trap, that we lay for ourselves,

A prison, that we build, with the bricks of our wealth.

It's a venom, that eats, at the core of our being,

And a wound, that bleeds, with each word that we're freeing.

So let us break, the chains of borrowed hate,

And release, the burden, that holds us captive.

For love is the cure, for the wounds of the past,

And the key, to the peace, that will forever last.

Borrowed hate, is a debt, that we cannot afford,

A price, that we pay, with the peace of our Lord.

So let us forgive, and let go of the pain,

And find, the love, that will heal us again.
