Blurred Vision

She no longer saw him in the same way

Through her window, she could see the glare of the streetlight

Typically, she would be checking her phone this time of night

Hoping to receive a text message letting her know he desired her

But too many weeks have passed and her memories have become a blur

Sad, as he used to be the only thing that resembled a cure

The pain, sadness, questions, and endless thoughts...

It was him and only him that she deeply sought

The few messages that she did receive were so very bland

She had gotten so used to rushing to be by his side

He has no idea how many times she had silently cried

Each of their moments was so magical and fueled by deep lust

Getting any chance for an evening with him, for her, was a must

Now the thought of driving off into the late hours at his request

To rush to his embrace, excitedly, getting undressed

No longer meant to her what it all had in the past

Her world was spinning out of control & going too fast

Yet, he showed no concern or care for her, outside of a bed

It was then that her craving became a state of dread

He was no longer the king of hearts as he used to play in her mind

Now he was cold, abrasive, and everything but kind

She had no regrets for the time they spent doing what they did best

But now in the present... her phone was silent and she preferred her rest!
