Blue Baggage

When I didn't need it, I had it

You were like expendable luggage to me

I had to carry it

all over the world

Little support

in this department

I also had my own

which you ridiculed and ravaged

working according to god knows what rules

I wasn’t any of those things

that you mentioned in relation to me

I didn’t cheat, I wasn’t bad

I didn’t conspire with your friends

and my enemies

yet you only saw a daredevil in me !

My case

does not require a subpoena

because I’m as pure as snow

you tarnished with your grubby hands

daubed with despair

from your own marriage

If you haven’t done any inner work

who do you think will solve

these mysteries haunting you everywhere

from England to Denmark, from Germany to France

as any foreign country

it will gladly welcome

genuinely lost souls

as long as you can provide the work of your hands

as long as you speak the language and give it back

all the goodness and stability with which you are sustained

But you didn’t want that, we knew it from the start

and this temporary treatment will get you no further

than your own blood

So please hide your suitcase in the darkest corner

of your bedroom

never let your wife see it until you decide

which side do you want to live your life on

as for indecisive individuals

there is only one solution worth noticing :

Live where you feel most appreciated

and don’t you dare

to think about your own life

growth and learning that you could get

when they need you, hide your shame

there is nowhere else

you could ever be

Why did you emigrate

in the first place?
