Bliss Will be Your Checkmate
poetry
Bliss will be your checkmate
By
Sunflowers are always in pursuit of the sun,
Yearning to absorb its light,
After dusk they wait eagerly,
Praying there is a demise to this night,
But Just when all hope is gone,
Their pedals start folding in,
And the blackness continues to fawn
This equally tenacious yin,
But soon they know this obscurity will fade,
When the dark veil begins to lift,
And the first rays are displayed,
Granting them a long awaited gift,
And rejuvenating those which frayed,
So like the sunflowers you will wither in your own darkness,
Longing for that beam of warmth
To relieve you from this loneliness,
But don’t fret my darling from your fate,
Despair will be the fallen king,
And bliss will be your checkmate,
For this misery is only a losing pawn,
On a game of chess your contentment has already won,
So never surrender and forever remember,
Its always darkest, before your dawn.
