If God was the spool
and we were the thread
Life made us the fool
and loves power is dead
If people would do
the things that they said
Love could heal the wounds
and would win in the end
But what is and what is hoped for
are not always the same
Love is a list of unfortunate chores
and a myriad of redundant games
Love is passion and betrayal, its family, and sacrifice. Love is patient, kind and gentle and so incredibly understanding.
It heals all, knows all, mends all, carries all, forgives all and love is thicker than, no, wait - that's blood.
Blood is thicker than water. But the blood's love I have experienced has been watered down, at the very least, with my own tears, making it - at best, equal to the thickness of water.
What I'm saying is...love is hard and life can be unfair.
It’s been said, love never fails.
I remember the day I began to doubt that.
When human consciences began to feel like a tragic misstep in evolution, a conceitedness leading us into becoming a little too self-aware.
And then needing to come to terms with what we’ve created. A tugged and frayed version of ourselves.

A lot to think about with this one. That is what poetry is all about.
Fun fact. Did you know that the actual saying is "Blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb"?. That blew my mind. Loved your poem!
